one. Popsicle Paints
I used a silicone popsicle mold, and I like making smaller popsicles because there is less chance of them breaking equally they melt. Purchase several molds then you can bring out new ones equally the commencement batch is used up. I use sulphite newspaper, which is the perfect weight – not too thin, not as well heavy. Paintings should dry out inside well-nigh 30 minutes. Kids volition Love this fun fashion to paint!

I got the thought from the e'er-creative Purple Twig. Read more here for supply listing and instructions.

5. Paper Crowns
Crowns are always a huge hit because they are wearable and instantly festive. I've done them many different ways. You actually need to start with paper that is well-nigh 20 inches long (this would accommodate all sorts of child head sizes). This is why I often use brown paper grocery bags like in this post, because they tin exist cutting into long crowns. But if you desire white crowns, and then hither'southward what you lot will need:
~ Long paper cut into 4″ strips
~ Colored paper cutting into triangles
~ Glue sticks
~ Liquid watercolor
~ Q-tips or pigment brushes
~ Oil pastels
~ Other collage material
~ A stapler to brand the crown circular (using the kid's head to measure)
6. Clothespin People

Arts and Crafts for ages 6-12
seven. Dreamcatchers

Read more than here for supplies and instructions.
viii. Paper Bag Stars
Kids but love making these stars! Over the years, we've embellished them several different ways. Hither'southward what y'all'll demand:
~ Brown dejeuner bags or white lunch bags
~ Gum sticks
~ Scissors
~ Fluorescent tempera cakes

ix. Pom-pom Necklaces
This is another favorite smash striking at altogether parties. I detect that at about age 5 or 6, the kids really have the hand-middle coordination to use the pom-pom makers. I don't have a good tutorial, but they are fairly straightforward, so I'll tell you what I do.
Pre-cut the yarn or cord that you will use as the necklace. Afterwards making the pom-pom (follow instructions on the pom-pom maker), use i of the pre-cut lengths to tie around the pom-pom. I cut long pieces, like nigh 28″ because you can always cut information technology downward. Allow the kids trim their pom-pom while holding the long string so as not to cut it. I so tape the ends of the strings together to make it like a shoelace. This makes it easier to bead. The kids tin can then add chaplet – or not – and then I tie information technology around their necks.
Here's what yous'll need:
~ Pom-pom makers
~ Yarn (I get mine from Michaels mostly)
~ Skillful scissors
~ Pre-cut yarn or string, about 28″ pieces
~ Tape, to tape the ends together like a shoelace for beading
~ Beads, pony beads are great as well as these wooden chaplet
x. Washi Tape Collywobbles
These are super easy to prep. For littler kids, I sometimes pre-cut the tape pieces and stick them around a plate. They would have to be smaller pieces for this method. But I've had adamant iv-year olds peel and cut the tape all by themselves. Older kids actually spend time making patterns. Remind all kids to continue the tape outside the lines, so when they cut out their butterfly the pattern will become right to the edges. Read here for supply list, template, and instructions.

I would suggest cut extras, and make them even bigger than these if you can so that the kids have more surface to cover and take more time. Y'all can also add lots more collage fabric to keep it going. Read more than here about supplies, instructions, and a equus caballus template. Yous tin also used templates from this post.

Possibly paint beginning, and so collage. Read here about materials and instructions.
sixteen. Paper-thin Sweets
Sweets are ALWAYS popular, no matter what time of twelvemonth. Nosotros have done cupcakes, donuts, and water ice foam cones. You tin use any collage materials mixed with pigment or oil pastels (I don't commonly mix tempera with oil pastels, option just one). Also, the bigger the ameliorate! Only exercise keep your space in heed when cutting. If you merely have a small table, maybe stay smaller. Just if you have all of outside and lots of table and floor infinite, cut bigger!

Tips & Tricks for a Successful Altogether Political party
Arts and Crafts Party Planning
The key to any great party is in the prep. This is peculiarly true for child parties, and even more truthful for kid Art parties. My goal is to concur their attention for an 60 minutes. That is my guarantee for parents. With lilliputian ones, ages three and 4, it'due south more like 45 minutes. The way I reach this is different for unlike ages. Let me break it downward.
Planning for Littles (ages 4-vi):
1. I always have iii stations for the younger ages. One is always a birthday banner because it'south a great place to send them to if they are washed with the other ii tables. The banner is never done, you lot tin ever add to it 🙂
two. Cull very open up-ended craft for this age, where there is no right or incorrect way to practice something. You don't want to have to teach them something new, they should already have all the skills they need so that there is a low frustration level and they essentially just playing. Information technology's a birthday political party, after all, and they really merely desire to play.
3. Allow them come and become as they please. Piddling ones like to circle back to things, then let them. If you desire them to stay a little longer, you tin can say "add ii more than colors" or "add 5 more than collage pieces", something to entice them to continue. Simply sometimes a kid is just done.
iv. I don't take chairs at the table for this age, unless they are actually petite or a toddler sibling wants to bring together and then and then can kneel on a stool. Just younger kids actually want to move effectually, and standing allows more than room at the tabular array and gives the hour of arts and crafts more energy. Children tin move from table to table with ease.
5. Brand sure that whatsoever you cut out from cardboard (cupcakes, animals, etc.) is the right size for your space. I in one case cut out donuts that were really big, but the space I went to was small and information technology was raining outside then the kids had to work in pairs. It was not platonic.
Planning for Older Kids (ages half dozen-12)
1. With older children, you accept the opportunity to teach something new, similar dream catchers or pom-pom necklaces or paper bag stars. They like something more instructional. I will withal practise iii stations with the older kids, but if one is instructional then the other two should exist open up-ended. The only exception is dreamcatchers. Those accept virtually an 60 minutes and a one-half, and commonly you don't demand a third station considering there isn't time. So I would just do the dreamcatchers and a birthday banner.
2. This historic period group loves a footling autonomy and are thrilled to brand something for their rooms, or something with their names on it. You don't have to cull from the projects above, I also have lots of ideas on my "Crafternoon" Pinterest board.
Arts and Crafts Party Prep
1. The key to any well-run political party is in the prep. Starting time yous plan (come across above), and then you prep. Choose your iii stations, then brand lists. Brand your list of supplies, then run into what you lot have in the house before you buy. Otherwise, social club from Amazon for convenience, or go to your local arts and crafts store.
2. Once you have all your supplies, it's time to prep all the materials. Whether its cutting cardboard, cutting collage material, making pinwheels, or mixing paint colors, it's time to get it all set. When you have finished one prep item, cross it off the listing.
three. At present you have all of your supplies, and all of materials. Information technology'southward time to make a "twenty-four hours of" checklist. Mine looks like this (just ane instance of a party):
~ Dark-brown newspaper for tables
~ Draw banner, bring masking tape and sharpie, tempera cakes, brushes, glasses for water
~ Paper pinwheels (plus iii actress), watercolors, aureate tempera, brushes, glasses for water, hole punch, yarn pieces (pre-cut), chaplet, bowls for beads and yarn
~ Pop-pom makers, basket of yarn, longer yarn pieces pre-cut, scissors, beads, bowls or trays for beads and yarn pieces, necklace brandish
4. I am a traveling art lady, so I fit everything into one large plastic box. Only if yous are doing this at abode, I would advise having a staging area in some other room. Possibly you can even put up a table in at that place, or utilize a table that's already in at that place. You tin lay out everything you lot demand for each station, and have it set up to proceed party mean solar day.
5. I do mentally visualize the day. This helps me with whatsoever unexpected hiccups. I literally shut my eyes and go through each station. The birthday banner station is easy, that is just about getting it drawn out earlier the guests go far and laying out the paints and water. You may have to modify the water halfway through. I and so think about siblings, their age and what they might demand that is different from the other kids, or a child who doesn't nonetheless have a skill, or a child who is not interested. I also think alee to pick-up, and how parents are going to transport wet, painted items. If I have a tempera pigment tabular array, I always bring extra pieces of cardboard that parents can put down in the car. Or newspaper.
6. Lastly, have something else planned for after the arts and crafts. This tin be very basic, like playing outside or decorating cupcakes or playing a game. For the children who only definitely don't want to do arts and crafts, you have a back-up thought for them. Birthday parties are different than art classes considering non everyone there likes to do fine art.
And that's basically the way I exercise parties! I hope this is helpful. Feel gratuitous to inquire me any questions at all.
Take fun!!
